This is an excellent addition to a writer's library. Clear rules with excellent, illustrative examples.
Only flaw is lack of guidance regarding curly brackets, which are not described in the punctuation chapter but are used extensively in Select Glossary and Transformational Grammar sections.

About the Author
Tami Duncan is a mom of two kids, one who was diagnosed with autism and Lyme disease. When she found out that she and her son both had Lyme disease, she started a non-profit foundation, which provided support and education for families and physicians. She also co-authored a book called The Lyme-Autism Connection with Bryan Rosner. During her twelve-year journey through autism, biomedical interventions, therapies and Lyme disease she awakened to her own spiritual gifts, realizing that when she integrated energy healing and spiritual practices into her treatment for herself and her son, big things happened. She dove in headfirst and became a student of the Universe and trained in Reiki, Vibrational Healing, Shamanic Techniques, Multi-Dimensional Frequencies, Garcia Innergetics, Mediumship, Channeling, Essential Oils, Flower Essences, Telepathic Communication, Innerwise, Holographic Healing, and many more techniques given to her through spiritual guidance. She considers herself both a student and a teacher. Tami has a thriving business called Epiphany Healing Arts, in which she helps families with children diagnosed with autism in numerous ways. Tami does a spectacular job outlining how to go about not only helping your child with autism, but also your whole family in the process. A fresh perspective on autism and the families affected by it

This is a lovely book that presents a perspective on children with autism that may be surprising for many (hint: they are probably not suffering as much as it may seem). Tami Duncan's remarkable journey from a mom suffering from Lyme to a Reiki Master able to communicate telepathically with nonverbal children is fascinating, but she includes a wealth of practical information and suggestions as well to help parents better understand how to think about, understand, and help their kids.

This book shares a timely and most important message. Autistic children are not "broken". They have come to serve as an impetus for change and reform on all levels. They have amazing gifts to share to those that are willing to look beyond the labels, and truly understand. Tami shares her insights from the children in a way that is easy to digest. It's like reading the diary of a friend; personable and relatable.

About the Author
John Dole is a professor with the department of horticultural science at North Carolina State University. John has served as southern region director, treasurer, and executive advisor of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers (ASCFG). He also co-coordinates the national ASCFG trial programs, which evaluate new annual, perennial and woody cut species. He has written hundreds of trade journal articles, scientific journal articles, and book chapters, as well as several other books. In 2000 he received the ASCFG's Allan Armitage Award.

Lane Greer received her PhD from North Carolina State University and taught at Mississippi State University. She honed her sustainable agriculture skills at the national sustainable agriculture information service (ATTRA) providing information to growers around the country on production and marketing of ornamentals. Simultaneously, she owned a cut flower farm, raising an acre of annuals, perennials, and woody shrubs. Her research has focused on the production and vase life of cut flowers. She has written over a hundred articles for publication in trade literature and on Web sites.

This has been an excellent resource for me, a beginner, entertaining the idea of marketing woody ornamentals. The authors have shared a lot of detailed information from their years of experience and other growers of woodies. I love the sections "Why You Should Grow It" and "Why You Shouldn't" . Also the Quick Guide in the back and Other Resources - invaluable. I would highly recommend this book to others like me who are just starting out to grow and market woody ornamentals. With the initial investment of time and money in planting trees and shrubs and having to wait a few years before making a profit, one cannot afford to make many mistakes. So why not rely on these seasoned experts. Reading the book is like having the authors as distant mentors.
