TOUCHING AND TRUE

Our little people, aged 4 and 5 have an insatiable appetite for animal facts and love to devour books so this fit the bill perfectly! A touching story every child and parent can relate to! And someday, when we drive through Rockport, Maine... we'll see the statue of Andre that the townspeople erected firsthand!
To accompany this book, we purchased two plush harbor seals. A 12' Harbor Seal Cuddlekins 12" and a 30" CUDDLEKINS HARBOR SEAL 30-Inch. They are terrific toys to cuddle with as the story is being read to them! And because we enjoyed Fran Hodgkins, we also bought her other seal book, The Orphan Seal.
There is a DVD made about Andre, and aptly named, Andre. HOWEVER, I cautiously advise restraint if your youngster is less than 8. I just feel it inappropriate for little ones! The children in the movie banter endlessly among themselves... and are just plain fresh sometimes. Additionally, one child screamed at his dad and said he "HATES" him. Then a fisherman in the movie gets drunk and has a fistfight.... so after that, we turned the DVD off.
Back to the book... this is a keeper, a winner and a favorite! I'm sure your family will love it as well!

I can't stop crying.. somebody help me.

I just saw the video about this animal. I can't stop crying. I don't know if the animal understand anything but coming back to them 24 times every years is incredible. The last trip he made, he was blinded already. I can't imagine how strong his will was to come back. He must have felt strong that there are people waiting for him so he didn't lose his direction. I want to visit someday the town and see the statue.
