Harnessing the Technicolor Rainbow is the first scholarly history of Technicolor aesthetics and technology, as well as a thoroughgoing analysis of how color works in film. One of the few references I've seen that relates the technical limits of the Technicolor process to its use - especially the low sensitivity and resulting problems in producing modeled lighting similar to monochrome technique.
